Frost Guard JVA 24

Application: The Frost Guard JVA 24 serves as a safety device for air handling units, safeguarding water radiators against freezing. It is designed to be mounted on a 35 mm DIN-rail, with plug connectors for easy service and commissioning. At commissioning, the sensor type can be selected from PTC1000/2000 ohm, Pt1000, or Ni1000-LG by coding connectors S1 to S3 on the circuit card behind the front plate.

Function: The JVA 24 continuously monitors and, if required, controls the temperature of the return water from the radiator. It utilizes a TEV sensor to detect temperature, transmitting the signal to the control system. As the temperature approaches the alarm set point (within the restriction range of set point + 3°C), the frost guard begins adjusting the control system signal to the actuator (indicated by a green light). If the temperature falls below the alarm set point, the JVA 24 halts the unit operation and activates an alarm (indicated by a red light). The alarm can be reset using the Reset button or by interrupting the power supply.

Attention: A temperature exceeding 130°C or a faulty sensor circuit (cut or short circuit) triggers an alarm, causing the JVA 24 to fully open the actuator (control valve). Disrupting the supply voltage to the JVA 24 stops the air handling unit operation and activates an alarm.
