QFM Series Duct Humidity Sensors, designed for reliable and accurate air humidity and temperature measurements. These active sensors are engineered to provide the critical data needed for precise climate control, ensuring optimal comfort in your spaces.

Key Features:

  • Flexible Power Options: The QFM Series sensors are versatile, supporting both AC 24 V and DC 19-30 V power supplies, making them adaptable to various HVAC systems.

  • Dual Signal Outputs: Monitor air humidity and temperature simultaneously with separate DC 0-10 V signal outputs for each parameter. This flexibility allows for comprehensive climate control.

  • High Measuring Accuracy: Rest easy knowing your measurements are precise. These sensors offer an impressive ±0.5 K accuracy at 23°C and ±5% relative humidity accuracy within their measuring range.

  • Broad Range of Use: These sensors can operate effectively in conditions ranging from 0 to 50°C and 10 to 90% relative humidity (non-condensing), ensuring versatility in diverse environments.

Applications:

The Siemens QFM1660 is a powerful tool suitable for various heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) controllers. Common applications include:

  • Ventilation systems
  • Air conditioning equipment in commercial and residential buildings

How It Works:

Relative Humidity: The QFM1660 utilizes a capacitive humidity sensing element to measure the relative humidity in the air duct. This sensitive element's electrical capacitance changes in response to variations in relative humidity. The sensor's electronic measuring circuit converts these changes into a continuous DC 0-10 V signal, representing a relative humidity range of 0-100%.

Temperature: Temperature measurements are achieved using a sensing element in the air duct. This element's electrical resistance changes according to temperature variations. The sensor promptly translates this resistance change into an active DC 0-10 V output signal, covering a temperature range of 0-50°C.

Mechanical Design:

The duct sensor is thoughtfully designed for durability and practicality. It comprises a housing, a printed circuit board, connection terminals, and an immersion rod with a measuring tip. The measuring circuit resides within the housing's printed circuit board, while the connection terminals are located on the same board.

The sensing elements, crucial for accurate measurements, are positioned at the tip of the immersion rod and protected by a filter cap. Cable entry is facilitated via the included screwed cable gland (M16).

The sensor, featuring robust construction, is securely attached to the duct via direct screw installation.
